filing file for divorce in that state. Each state has different waiting periods; most require from 3 to 24
months.

The Residency Requirement cause by the
Place of Divorce (Venue), actions for divorce from the
bonds of matrimony or for separate support and maintenance must be tried in the county;

(a) In which the defendant resides at the time of the commencement of the action,
